Although there is a Bridgeport, Connecticut, there has never been an incorporated city or town in Massachusetts with the name Bridgeport, and to my knowledge there is no place in Massachusetts that has ever been known as Bridgeport. The closest would be Bridgewater, Massachusetts in Plymouth County.
There is, now that I think of it, a neighborhood of the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts known as Cambridgeport
. Authors Note: In my opinion this proves that Bridgeport didn't exist and Joseph wasn't positive about his place of birth.

Author's Comment: This contradicts the Milititsch OSB, showing year of birth as 1779 instead of 1776. The day/month is the same. I tend to believe Stader since both books have a sister, Cresentia, born in 1776. Book in the possession of the author.

[Book lists his name at birth as Anton, however, his brother, Josef doesn't ever believe this to be the case. Also, the book lists his name as Konrad on the next page when listing his marriage. So, I'm assuming that the 'Anton' is a error in the book.]
